need to lift mine 12-18 inches. Jack stands are too expensive and cinder blocks are too tacky. Milk crates would be good but I don't know where to get those Any ideas appreciated.

![]() Amazon has milk crates, but that seems like a non-optimal solution. Maybe some aluminum pipe? Online Metals will cut pieces to length for you, if what they have in stock isn't appropriate. E.g. 6061 T6 aluminum, 12" long, 1.9" OD, 0.15" wall, $6.74 each. HTH! Good luck. Cheers, Scott. |

![]() With bricks you can put each layer at right angles to the previous and they'll be pretty stable. Of course, if you want them really stable, you can moisten them slightly and place a dab of Gorilla Glue between them. |

![]() It's a 3 step process. 1 Get some wood (it's made of trees, hth) 2 cut it to size 3 There is no step 3 |

![]() Closest I could get around here is 7x9 railroad ties. Don't know that I'd want them in the house since they're fire treated, meaning they shed creosote. Other than that you've got 6x6 fenceposts. -- Drew |

![]() Two 15" free-standing drawer units from Target raised the desk the perfect amount for my femur length. The drawers were something like $30 a piece if I remember correctly, and now I have extra storage space. Note: Target does not seem to have the same drawer units now, just a 12" model now: http://www.target.com/p/room-essentials-2-drawer-organizer-espresso/-/A-15116841#prodSlot=medium_1_15&term=drawer Regards, -scott Welcome to Rivendell, Mr. Anderson. |
