Incomplete...
For example they left out GOMER - Get Outa My Emergency Room. There are a number of others. I try not to think back on my days in the medical dodge... "Religion, n. A daughter of Hope and Fear, explaining to Ignorance the nature of the Unknowable." ~ AMBROSE BIERCE (1842-1914) |

That one is actually there.
But, this is timely. I'm getting an out-patient eye surgery Friday, so while I'm conscious I can be listening for acronyms! :) The operation is a combination of DSEK (Descemet's Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty) and cataract surgery on my left eye. In plain English, DSEK is a transplant of the inner layer of the cornea. I had the same done a couple of years ago on my right eye. Functionally I'll be a cyclops for a few days. Every industry has this.
And medical people tend to develop the most macabre senses of humour. Wade. Just Add Story http://justaddstory.wordpress.com/ |
