I know 2-strokes are more sensitive to exhaust tuning, but as much work as people put in to creating equal-length headers there must be some effect.

But it is the Ram Air effect for the VBoost and the CV carbs the VMax uses.

You don't get better scavenging from doing less back pressure, the net effect of scavenging is the same with or with out the back pressure.

X tubes are the big thing now a days, Since the equal length exhaust manifolds/headers to collectors are effectively a done deal.
