Question for Another Scott: If the men who wrote the US Constitution, resurrected and brought up to speed on current events, sat in judgment on the two men, which one do you suppose they would regard as more faithful to the model of government-to-governed relations they laid out?
If Madison were reanimated and asked that, I don't think he could answer. The idea of a permanent military was anathema to him and many others of that day. But he and others of that day had strong opinions about the importance of their "sacred honor" - Burr killed Hamilton in a duel in 1804. People who had a position of trust under the United States (or working to support the same), as Snowden did, would not be held up as heroes (e.g. consider Benedict Arnold in 1779 - http://en.wikipedia....g_to_change_sides ) after giving up secret information.
Snowden won't be executed if he is convicted. The last federal execution was in 2003 - http://en.wikipedia....vilian_executions
Woolsey's just shooting his mouth off.
My $0.02. HTH.
Cheers,
Scott.
