The image services, though, are oriented around sharing with all and sundry, as you've noticed.

If you have a 'net-connected server, you can install your own software, such as Gallery. I haven't used it in some years but it's still around and not hard to install. There is probably an OpenID module, reducing the burden of user accounts. And it has some nifty ways of mass-uploading a lot of pics, too.

The only other options are Facebook or Google Plus. I'm on both and I suspect most IWETHEYers are one or the other or both.
