Ok, so I adapt and want to use my Mini as a pseudo theater system for the office/bedroom.
Cool, I get my setup all done.
4 monitors, networking, shelving, power distribution, sound... uh oh... sound.
Damn, Mac Mini doesn't play input on output or "passthru" as its called.
Goto the Genius bar... they end up telling me that since OSX v 10.4 that feature was no longer part of "core OS". But was a feature in OS9... last seen in 10.3.
Wow, Linux does this with ease. I guess its a part of this "keeping you from hurting yourself" schitckt. He said his laptops never do this... yet my Lenovo with Linux does it just fine.
So... crap what to do.
"input through output" OSX... comes up with "LineIn"
Works but has to be running. Otherwise no input from the TV/other things playing on the headphone jack.
Grah... new world order. Meh.
