New Daring Fireball on Verizon iPhone 4
http://daringfirebal.../verizon_iphone_4

Says it's the same - including the battery life (which I find surprising - GSM is supposed to be better than CDMA). Better network with Verizon, but AT&T's faster when you have a strong signal.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Engadget has a good review, too.
Engadget's got a good review and comparison at http://www.engadget....on-iphone-review/

What I found interesting on the speed test is while AT&T has significantly higher throughput, the latency is also much higher. But then this is nothing new. AT&T's HSPA data network was always known to be faster than Verizon's EVDO overall, it's the coverage that's vastly superior on the Verizon network.
New Yup, a good one. Thanks.
New Re: Daring Fireball on Verizon iPhone 4
The battery life deal probably just means that the actual radio part of the phone is not a significant source of drain, compared to the screen and CPU.
New Good point.
My recollection is the battery life issues between GSM and CDMA were comparing bare phone functionality (operating and standby). People who have an iPhone are likely doing much more than just making calls and having it sit idle.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Well, I can say
that my old cdma phone's battery life sucked... but it was just a phone. It was fine, until one of two things happened: I had to spend a long time on the phone, or I was out of the service area. Then you could practically watch the battery meter fall.
