According to the right wing, even the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction "hurt" and influenced tens of thousands of people and promptly slapped huge fines on the network. Yet, now, they say rhetoric is not to blame. Today, Sarah Palin said: "They begin and end with the criminals who commit them, not collectively with all the citizens of a state, not with those who listen to talk radio, not with maps of swing districts used by both sides of the aisle, not by law abiding citizens who respectfully exercise their rights at campaign rallies.....". So, Janet Jackson inspires moral decay and criminal behaviour, but talk radio rhetoric does not? So which is it Bill - do images and rhetoric affect people ... or not?
