We should have near perfect viewing...with just scattered clouds coming in overnight.
Looks like its gonna be a late night/early morning

We should have near perfect viewing...with just scattered clouds coming in overnight. Sure, understanding today's complex world of the future is a little like having bees live in your head. But...there they are.

Full cover up here... boo!

Snow... bummer.

Same.
Disappointing. My youngest is very much into astronomy right now and it would have been fun to watch.

Not the same, but it's something. Cheers, Scott. (Who remembers seeing one in Chicago in 1982(?).) |

Yabbut...
... not really worth waking a 7yo at 3am for a television feed. :-)
Thanks though. Regards,

Despite general cloud cover, saw start! in the clear.
Went outside at ~22:45 PST; everwhere was grey. Looked ~ straight up and saw a clear hole opened, precisely framing The Moon! -- despite days of rain/drizzle.
Hole was maybe 6-8 moon-dia. wide and moon was centered [how improbable is That?!111] Burnt-orange just starting across.. 15 min or so later: no more hole. Oh well.. Last one I saw was in '70, in Berkeley/Oakland. Eerie, but -as they say- an also romantic event, with one's SO and others nearby oohing, awwing ... seeing all the earth's sunsets filtering the light. Like maybe a thermo-nuclear-Pumpkin-Pie happened. |
