You do need to go get the dev version of ffado to be able to get it to go. You also need to be able to figure out how to find the firmware revision check in the sources; I suspect that's mostly there to keep the amateurs out. But given those two things (the ability to go get the latest'n'greatest from ffado's subvention repository, fulfill all the reqs, and get your firmware revision so you can change it to yours in the place in the source where it checks) it works just fine.
