Sheesh: just sampling the variety of [the former..] Scienceblogs crew, and the prospect of somehow finding n of these -- one by one -- would become an onerous task. Not enough hours in a day: too-many-words :-/

presents by far the most comprehensive overview [to his resignation, as well.]
A management group stuck in dreams of their failed ['Seed'] print-magazine, with no communication with their cast of content producers: in the only profitable part of their 'stable'.
(I copied the extensive text, in event it goes Black, but not sure I'll watch the devolution in slo-mo anyway.
It's only one of many.

Sad, SOO Murican MBA-Suit stereotypical: the ostrich (whose position is both vulgar and vulnerable.)
And as 'owners', these fossils are doubtless watching it all unravel and worse: reading in their own 'product' the n articulate explanations of Why.

Lost: science-related One Stop Shopping.
Oh well, in a country that is inherently anti-intellectual and much prefers pseudo-science and fantasy to any rigorous reasoning on any topic: why would we expect any Management suddenly smartening-up?

Maybe when the dust settles, there may be splinters all over the webiverse, though fat chance of any cohesive tracking of this cast of characters. Particularly poignant, IMO -- the ones whose raison d'etre is the focus of mass meeja upon, simply, planetary survival -- though these will continue elsewhere as their readers attempt to discover Where.

it's surreal: the disconnect from *this* management, its obliviousness to the actual significance of this successful / influential / competent! assortment of individuals. Kind of a microcosm for Murica's compounding, accelerating failures in so many other areas (?)

Bad ju-ju all around. We can't become inured to these events it seems, even as each new one seems more revelatory of trends than the Last one.
(And some imagine we shall adapt Murican standards in creating the New Afghanistan! No matter how many 19 yos from Tenn and Ga have to die in pursuit of this chimera.)
It is to laugh, our hubris and insouciance -- despite all recent National embarrassments.

Pity.
