Now the latest is that I've discovered that my media playing software has been mucked with. Went to play an MP3 and Windows Media Player 9 doesn't exist; ditto for Goldwave 4.0. Had to re-install both of them, which was easy for Goldwave but a royal pain for WMP (anybody who has gone to the Control Panel, clicked on Add/Remove Windows Components and guessed how Windows would react based upon which checkboxes you marked or left blank knows exactly what I'm talking about).
