The US government is shortly going to be in a situation where something has to give. We can't afford to pump so much money into business, finance two wars, pay for social programs and pay our debts forever. And given those options, it serves China for social programs to be the one that goes.
This isn't because China is actually interested in our economic well being. In fact, it's almost exactly the reverse. China wants us to focus our money on paying our debt and supporting business because those are things where the money will flow to China. Jay |

Small changes in 2 Trillion in owned debt would cost China quite a bit...they may actually be interested.

Yeah, but his point still stands
that which is in the interests of China wrt your debt to it is not necessarily in your interest.
