Welcome to IWETHEY!

New sad day, BIL died
stanislaus eugene joseph, we had some good times back in the ville. Many have heard the story of me pulling a boat in 4 inches of water and 3 feet of mud for several miles while he pushed. He loved subsistance hunting, accepted me and my kids admired him.
$2200 round trip means only his sister, my wife will attend funeral
he will be missed......
at least he will be met by all
out of 12 only 5 left damn we are all getting old....
New Condolences to you and her. :-(
New Sorry Box - condolences to you and yours.
New Bummer, condolences..
(And no, we don't actually get used to becoming orphans of a sort.)
New Sorry for your loss. :(
-Mike

Welcome to Rivendell, Mr. Anderson.
New condolences
New Condolences and prayers

"Chicago to my mind was the only place to be. ... I above all liked the city because it was filled with people all a-bustle, and the clatter of hooves and carriages, and with delivery wagons and drays and peddlers and the boom and clank of freight trains. And when those black clouds came sailing in from the west, pouring thunderstorms upon us so that you couldn't hear the cries or curses of humankind, I liked that best of all. Chicago could stand up to the worst God had to offer. I understood why it was built--a place for trade, of course, with railroads and ships and so on, but mostly to give all of us a magnitude of defiance that is not provided by one house on the plains. And the plains is where those storms come from."

-- E.L. Doctorow
New My sympathies and prayers, Box.

New Re: sad day, BIL died
My sincere condolences. Our thoughts are with you, take care.
New Very sorry to hear that. My condolances also.
New My condolences, Box!
I was thinking about you earlier today. Going by a book, I was heading for Mukluk Annie's in Teslin, YT for some salmon and an overnight campsite. When we got close to town we found a "Closed" plastered over their road sign.

So, we wound up at the Yukon Motel, Restaurant and RV Camp in Teslin instead. A nice free wildlife museum here too. At the restaurant, tried their caribou sausage with perogies with sauteed onions and bacon chips on them. Not bad. but it's not salmon.

I wondered if in your runs up and down the AK highway you stopped at these places.

Is Ulla still alive for this?
Alex
New alive but cognitant I dont think so
A few days ago I talking about how much I miss brushkana creek my favorite road campsite.
http://www.hikercent...ounds/113965.html
I would also fill it up gas and try the haul road as far as you feel comfortable. They are featuring that road on "ice road truckers" recently. Its not too bad up to the yukon. Adventurous after that.
The denali highway that runs from cantwell to the valdez highway near glenallen is one of the world's prettiest drives with brushkana being the best campground available. Too early in the season but on the ridge behind the campground is where MJ used to pick blueberries while I loafed around the campfire with the babies.
Last time I was there was memorial day weekend 1998 and it still had some snow on the ground.
New sorry to hear it box.
I will choose a path that's clear. I will choose freewill.
New I'm sorry for your loss, Box.
