New bone marrow biopsy: leukemia is in remission.
That's the big win. Best possible outcome at this stage.
Cost her a big chunk of brain. How much damage to her life that means, we won't know for a while. But what she's recovered already is amazing. And enough that she's really alive, it's really her, not some shadow of her, not some empty husk. She knows her family, she laughs at things that are funny. She makes the "blablabla" hand gesture when Mom talks too much, rolls her eyes when people get too worried about her.
They switched her to a smaller trach tube, and fed her some water and applesauce. Dyed green so they can tell whether any of it got into her trachea when they aspirate. It didn't. Speech therapist says she's mouthing words pretty well. No sound yet, the tube still prevents it.
She powered herself on a wheelchair, a good 20 feet.
Kid's tough.
