Calgon take me away
So today Im at work and I learn that a patient I see is under investigation for murder. A man in her complex was found stabbed and gutted. She was the one who found his body and she apparently had some kind of relationship with him. The police have been through her home several times. Shes not been charged with anything yet. Ive been out to her home on several occasions. This has really rattled my cage. Could I see her killing someone? Yep. Theres always been something kind of nebulous about her. She makes me feel on edge. I could never pinpoint it, though. The hallmark of a good psychopath.
The victim was gutted. He didnt have to be gutted. He could have simply been stabbed to death. Gutting indicates rage and a desire to humiliate. Stabbing opposed to shooting also indicates intense passion. Is my patient rageful? Hell yes. And shes big, too. But she does have COPD. I wonder if she could take someone down who was struggling. She would get too winded. Unless she snuck up and ambushed him.
Can you tell Ive been perseverating on this all day?
Now legal is involved and I have a duty to warn the providers who are treating her.
I told my boss I need hazard pay. I'm creeped out.

*ding* You are now free to move about the country.
Zooks! That's horrible!
Try to get away for a few days, or at least do something less stressful.
Hang in there.

Think I may call someone to do the pool. Also the yard. Moving sucks.

relax
big woman maybe stabbed and gutted someone she had a relationship with. Whoever did it didnt have access to a gun or wanted to prove a point. if in doubt and she appears to be threatening you punch her in the throat only if you cannot run like hell.
She should be over her mad by now and probably needs some help adjusting, I wouldnt fear her, use the compassionate side, you might get lucky and find out she didnt have anything to do with it.
Usually girl on guy violence is the escalation of domestic violwnce, you know the stats. 50%woman 50%men in the pushing shoving hairpulling slapping stage 90% men to 10% women in the punching battering broken bone stage homicide it goes right back to 50-50 so she prolly isnt mad at you. thanx, bill

I dont feel very relaxed.
I'm not worried about her hurting me in any way. I'm not even that worried about going back into that neighborhood. What bothers me the most is being so close to that kind of violence. I'm more bothered by this than I am when I respond to an air disaster. It's not the carnage, it is the act of killing that I am struggling with. Feels like a brush with evil, and I dont like that at all.

I knew a real murderer
Went to church with his mom. Real nice kid. Only child. Straight A student. Got caught up in a whacked-out scheme with his best friend.
