The Taliban continues its oppression of women.

you are confusing flying with people
it is a cattle call and the airline employees hate the passengers and must abuse them as often as possible. If people other than bidness travellers said fuggit and refused to fly for 45 days they might get a clue.
I still wont fly delta because some twat was abusive when I was leaving the plane because I was chewing snuff. She claimed there was an faa regulation and she could have me arrested.

I'd like to say that your characterization is mere hyperbole
(in the interest of Accuracy and all that stuff ~like truthiness, not so popular now.)
But I can't. It isn't.
Whenever Our Fundies accrete enough $heer Mindless-Power to enforce their antediluvian histrionics upon all living things (diapers for canines?) - I have all that early experience with My Gramma + e v e r y thing seen since, to convince me: They Will.
Hatred of 'The Other' fuels as large a %share of Murican fantasies as the bin-L bunch, but our hi-Sugar diet of euphemisms smothers that naked depravity with an oxygen-resistant patina of oozy-ochre color -- because we Like fooling selves about our perpetual Sheer Wonderfulness.
"Family Airline" - my ass - Oh Please! - which then: is the Murican Animal Airline?
One area where our Leadership remains undisputed - is cliche production. Does cliche precede or succeed the root-hypocrisy? Analysts, future historians Want to Know.

I thought the criticism ms Ebbert received from quite a large proportion of the blogosphere at the time was harsh and unfair; her attire was called "slutty" (and she herself a "skank") more than once, as I recall... But it feels to me as if this latest piece of news, "[link|http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/n/a/2007/11/15/national/a185653S61.DTL&type=printable|Flyer Told to Change Outfit Poses Nude]", tends to support these less-than-charitable commenters more than my own perhaps-naive view at the time.
(In the article, ms Ebbert claims that the pictures are "very tastefully done"... But then, they always say that, don't they? Let's hope she's right in thinking -- though I must admit to some trepidation on this count -- that it won't have too adverse an effect on her future professional aspirations.)
