Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Is he still alive?
Ha ha!

Now there was a fine specimen of a man!

How old is he now? 70?
Smile,
Amy

(Dang, I must be getting old and you must be too, Christian, not to bust me for leaving a word out <grin>)

New 63, by my count. Seems to be doing fine, AFAICS on the 'Net:
Both [link|http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000442/bio|IMDB] and [link|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rutger_Hauer|Wikipedia] still talk about him -- as of this writing -- in the present tense, so yes, it seems he's still with us. Born in 1944, he's three years younger than my Mom (or, considering he's born in January and she in November, just a smidgen over two) -- and I sure hope she's got quite a few years left in her yet! In contrast to her, though, he even has [link|http://www.rutgerhauer.org/|a Web site] of his own.

The turn of words I was reminded of was, of course, from his performance as [link|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Characters_in_Blade_Runner#Roy_Batty|the replicant (=android) Roy Batty], in [link|http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083658/|Blade] [link|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blade_Runner|Runner].

I was getting quite annoyed with myself (and, I admit, with IMDB) that I couldn't find that phrase from him on the [link|http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083658/quotes|quote page] to show you... Until I realised it wasn't actually from him it came, but was said to him by [link|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Characters_in_Blade_Runner#Dr._Eldon_Tyrell|his creator, the real villain (as I recall it) of the film].

And no, I'm not plannig on "getting old" for another decade or three. I just didn't see your post before you'd corrected your Errol yourself.

New He's old enough to be my pappy
<shiver>

Still, he was awesome in Blade Runner, which happens to be one of my favorite movies.

Oh, and btw...."plannig"? ;)

Gotcha!

Smile,
Amy

New That was of course just a test.
To see if you would spot that one too.

Yeah, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
