A message from my wife.
Dear Friend,
Not many of you know this, but in March of this year I lost my sister to a very short but devastating battle with breast cancer. She was a a beautiful and intelligent person. She always took very good care of herself and watching this disease ravage her was one of the hardest things I have EVER gone through in my life, not to mention how her daughter & husband and my parents feel. I miss her every day.
CANCER OF ANY TYPE SHOWS NO PREFERENCE OR MERCY FOR IT'S VICTIMS!
In her honor I have decided to enter the Breast cancer 3 day walk for the cure. I will be walking 60 miles over a 3 day period in October. I am taking on this endeavor to hopefully keep my own children from someday having to experience this horrible ordeal. The pain of losing a loved one to such a disease is very hard to bear. I would like to help find a cure. A child losing their mother and a mother losing her child is very difficult to watch. Please help. Please support me as I take an amazing journey in the fight against breast cancer! It is very difficult to ask for money from strangers let alone my friends, but I am sure you can now understand why this is so important to me. I have set a personal goal of $2200.00. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Please find it in your heart to click on the link below and help me in my cause.
Thank you.
Sincerely, Rita Patient

Sorry to hear about your sister-in-law, Bill. There seems to be a lot of that going around, unfortunately. :-(

Thanks and you are right about that.
Sandy had been treated and largely cleared. The recurrence was extremely fast.
Another family member, cancer free for 7 yrs. Just a couple weeks ago they found some items that are due to be removed in about a week. C word has yet to be determined this time. Good news there is that the last bout had nearly 50 of these things removed...this time its 2. But following her sister, everyone is rightfully nervous.

Your family is being hit hard
I'm very sorry.
Cancer is a monster. The walk is very challenging, but also extremely inspirational. Many people will benefit from her efforts. Tell her thank you.

It has been an "interesting" year.
She's very committed to this. Regardless of the physical I think she would do 1000 miles.
Brother just did a 60 mile bike (his health is still good in spite and thankfully) and the family was there at the end...very very emotional. Dr cleared him for this and pushed things back so he could do it.
Its clearly a cause that we can/should support and do. Hence the "for sale" sign on the jello shots this year. (all that is going to the walk too)

Dam, I missed saying good things about her.
Make sure she knows I added to the Collection during the bash.
