Blasted DNR issues "failure to secure campsite" ticket...

Isn't that like stupid or something?
Let's just say that'll be a tough tall tale to one-up him on.

I'd ask if I can keep the ticket after paying it
I'd frame the fucker and put it on my mantel.

Heh ... but seriously
Can you imagine having that on your wall? People seeing it for the first time and asking about it? And getting to tell that story? That'd be sweet.

The problem is having food at ground level.
Campsites often have pole with an elevated hook near its top on which to hang your food so it is out of reach of bears. Dollars to donuts, at the campground registration kiosk are instructions to hang your food from the hook or leave it the trunk of a car. Having a cooler on the ground doesn't cut it and indeed is an invitation to bears. Hence, the ticket.
Makes sense to me.

Yes, I agree.
But the DNR handing out a ticket for "failure to secure campsite" in light of the whole incident...
That is sort of like giving out a ticket to a swimmer for swimming in a no-swimming zone to rescue a drowning person.
The guy damn well secured his campsite with PURE BRAWN, DAMMINT!

I read it as "DNS" for quite a while.
I wondered what the domain name system had to do with killing bears, but not enough to click on the link. I was busy, you see.
:-)
Cheers, Scott.
