Think about it. Short-term depression versus long-term immortality. Me, if I knew I had terminal cancer with "x" options to treat it, I'd try to hang on as long as I could, just on the chance that one of the weird treatments they are trying might lead to a cure.
Meanwhile, I'd play Everquest or Wizardry 8.
