I have to say I'd been reading [link|http://www.dropline.net/cats/|MemeCats] for weeks, if not months before the LOLCAT thing took off. It was a nice change watching *everyone else* catch up to the meme. :-D
I've got two cats, and if I was a bit more organized I could easily post pics of them every few days with suitable captions along the LOLCAT lines.
