New gonna jump to politics
Scaife, rich rightwing person with a hatred of the politics of those to the left up him. He despised the clintons and paid out a ton of money to foundations and reporters to dig any dirt they could find on the clintons and any democratic operative. He also funded groups from other countries that he deems need governmental change.

Soros a rich person who hates the politics of anyone to the right of him and funds foundations and people willing to dig dirt on bush and minions and funds folks in other countries (orange revolution comes to mind) that he deems need governmental change.

Both rich folks trying to buy their version of the world. Functionally the same, both have flawed vision (in my view)

thanx,
bill

New Hmmm.
[link|http://www.soros.org/|Soros.org] seems very open about who they fund and why. It takes more work to find out what [link|http://www.scaife.com/|Scafie.com] is up to (e.g. reading their annual reports).

But I haven't seen anything that was funded by Soros that was comparable to Scafie's [link|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arkansas_Project|Arkansas Project]. The closest I see is his [link|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soros#Political_activism|support of various (fairly mainstream) political organizations]. I certainly see a large difference in degree, while it can be argued it's not a difference in kind, I suppose.

I did I miss something specific that you have in mind?

Thanks.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Don't forget CAP, Moveon.org, ACT
and a bunch of other 527s. Soros has spent probably 100million, or close, trying to get rid of Bush.

New All of that is in his WikiPedia link. I didn't forget. :-)
New Fine with me
I see a distinction between the two. I see Soros less as a man of hate than a man with a a vision of spreading democracy around the world and he funds it. He seems to be able to criticize those he used to support, which makes him different from Scaife. In the end, maybe he is more interested in getting his vision implemented than the vision itself, don't know about that.

I think I am going to leave his criticism of Bush for another time.
