Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Hey, check out the poster for my new band and tell me what
you think. I've posted it on a blog: [link|http://partialtomusic.blogspot.com/|http://partialtomusic.blogspot.com/]. Apparently, the permalink to the post is [link|http://partialtomusic.blogspot.com/2007/05/check.html|http://partialtomusi...007/05/check.html]. I wouldn't mind some feedback about it. It's the first time I've done this sort of thing in a while.

The picture is not meaningless; it's of the new arena that's being built here. It took me a while to find the good shot when I took the pics, but I think this was it.

'Course, I pretty much know dick about the blogger software, never having used it before, so it's pretty plain jane, but at least you can see the pic without having to be in Facebook.

Did I happen to mention that it's four thirty am? It's been a loooooong night.

Cheers folks,

Jack

You can fire an at will employee for good cause or no cause, but not bad cause.
New Agreed
And with that band name, you have many more graphics to choose from, so you could have a new poster every few months.
New Nice. Gets one's attention - in a good way.
New Perfect. Marketable and memorable.

New damned good...works on many levels
It's better than anything I've done in the poster line in recent years, and I do graphic design for a living. Five stars, with oak leaves for the brilliant deployment of white space.

cordially,
Die Welt ist alles, was der Fall ist.

New It needs a brick wall behind it

We posture as apostles of fair play, as good sportsmen, as professional knights-errant-- and we throw beer bottles at the umpire when he refuses to cheat for our side...We save the black-and-tan republics from their native [statesmen]--and flood them with "deserving" democrats of our own. We deafen the world with our whoops for liberty--and submit to laws that destroy our most sacred rights...We play policeman and Sunday-school superintendent to half of Christendom--and lynch a darky every two days in our own backyard.

New Thank for the nice words!
The arena is pretty controversial; the city's going to be on the hook for any losses, the parking situation around it is close to nonexistent, and while the taxpayer is picking up the tab some of the local developers and the owner of the local OHL franchise (that would be the Kingston Frontenacs) are not taking on any of the risk and stand to do very tidily from it, thank you very much. If you want to do a search on "LVEC Kingston" (with particular attention paid to results from the Whig-Standard, the local paper) you can get a feel for what's going on locally from it.

That said, at this point it's a done deal, and I hope that they manage to make a success out of it, because if it doesn't make money it'll potentially cripple the city's finances for a generation.

We're taking some heat for this one; the poster's worked a treat from a PR perspective. It'll be interesting to find out if the local rock radio station (which is a big backer of the project) will trash us for it or blacklist us or some such. I showed it to the sales manager yesterday and he was literally speechless for close to five minutes. I've known him for like twenty years and afterwards we had a long discussion on it... if you're a local the poster works on quite a few different levels. He said he was going to "take it upstairs" at the end of the conversation so we're waiting to find out what the reaction is going to be like.
New I hope they blacklist you ... that's always great publicity
