Heard on CNBC last night...
...A suggestion to use judges from countries that don't have people competing. There are something like 75 countries in the International Skating Union. Why do the Americans, Russians, French, Chinese, Brits, etc always have judges, whereas some countries like Finland (who rarely have competitors) rarely get judging spots?
Not that I give a shit about figure skating. Give me hockey any day of the week (and twice on Sunday!)
