thats why I dont attend a regular place of worship

because of the fucking people. You dont have to explain yourself to anyone. Or step foot in there at all. I suggest checking out a different place, look around, sit in on a few services. Dont get involved, just attend. As for mom, just explain that church isnt supposed to be a nightmare, you just want to worship quietly(elsewhere)
