. . if he sees only Apples - so I question the reality of his conclusions. I have about 100 clients active within any one year, and in the last 5 years I have seen among them exactly one Apple computer - a dual boot notebook purchased for a company officer's kid to take to college.
I even have less Linux out there than I used to, as my clients' software providers force them from file servers to database servers running SQL Server. As for Web apps, the only one any of my clients are using is Web mail.
I do agree no way is Microsoft going to change their ways as he suggests. They really wanted to freeze the computing world where was a few years back and they expected to have that done by now - but that pooch got screwed.
Microsoft's major problem is they continue on as if they had the freeze - so for the long haul I expect this guy is right - but he's stating it as "now" and I don't think that is accurate. Doomed Microsoft may be, but dead they are not.
