It generally seems to vary between 160 and 256 kbps in songs played with the CDex player. iTunes calls it 194 kbps VBR or 232 kbps VBR in a couple of songs I've looked at (10000 Maniacs "Noah's Dove"; Bad Religion "The Gray Race").

We've got [link|http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-CX-300S-CX300-B-Earbuds/dp/B000E1DSAE/|Sennheiser CX-300B] earbuds. They seem pretty good and are very comfortable. But most of the time we'll be listening to the collection in our cars.

I don't imagine I can really hear the difference (even with the earbuds) between what I made and the lossless stuff. Almost every place I listen has so much background noise that that dominates any fidelity issues. I just wanted to make sure that I'm not missing something else.

Thanks.

Cheers,
Scott.
