Something I hope to achieve in my future house back in my native state.

New Yep, they're not *completely* trashed yet
All I did when I moved in was take up the carpet, clean the floors with Simple Green, and put down a coat of polyurethane. I've got several spots that are peeling, and one place where the rocking chair totally chewed it up. But I'm not going to worry about it until the kids are older, and not so hard on the furnishings.

It's still funny to think that once upon a time that was standard, and people with money made sure to cover them up.
