Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Last year I promised myself . . .
. . "OK, I've done this, I don't ever have to do it again".

But here I've gone and done it again anyway. Turned out OK though: my excellent low sugar cranberry sauce, turkey, gravy, chard with mushrooms and poblanos, gratin of white and sweet potatoes, and stuffing of sausages, apples and parsnips.

Now the food is put away, the dishes are washed, the stove is clean and I'm having a glass of red wine (contains compounds that preserve obese rats - should work for me). Then it's off to bed.

New Looks like it was another excellent meal.
I did the "warm up sliced turkey and ham from the store and make a couple of side dishes" routine for us this year. It turned out well enough, only took about an hour all told, and the 3 of us won't be over-run by leftovers for the next couple of weeks. But I'm sure yours tasted much better.

I enjoy cooking, but it does get annoying for simple things like a [link|http://www.campbellkitchen.com/recipedetail.aspx?recipeID=24099|green bean casserole] to turn out poorly (the sauce was runny and it took about 50% too long to cook) because I don't make it often enough...

Cheers,
Scott.
New Sounds yummy
I cooked a 12 pounder (it is apparently not possible to buy a smaller turkey) and it was far and away the most flavorful bird I've ever had. Perfection.

Pear proscuitto hazelnut dressing, twice baked yams w/pecans, cranberry apricot chutney, proscuitto wrapped asperigus, and baked pears dusted with ground ibarra chocolate and cinnamon hazelnut chocolate balls melted in the center.

I'm gonna be in a coma for days.
