Democrat Darcy Burner conceded the race to Republican Rep. Dave Reichert a week after Election Day, but did not rule out another run for office.
Burner's loss ended the Democrats' best hope for claiming a Republican House seat in this left-leaning state. It was her first run for elected office. She called Burner on Monday night but did not concede publicly until Tuesday.
"I haven't made any decisions," Burner, a former Microsoft Corp. manager, said at a news conference. "I plan on taking my son to Disneyland this weekend, as I promised I would."
Reichert's lead stood at 4,727 votes on Tuesday, or 51.1 percent to Burner's 48.9 percent.

She had an up-hill battle and did pretty well.
Why on Earth did the count take so long?
Cheers,
Scott.
