Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Tick tick tick
Gave notice yesterday - two weeks - hoped they would toss me out immediately.
Today they asked if I could support them in the future.
New boss says no.
Which means they were thinking of letting me go early, but since I can't help them later, they are keeping me as long as possible.

So I spend my time wandering around, making small talk, and occasionally lecturing my junior. Poor bastard. He's starting to realize he is the ONLY one in the company to support my systems. Which are 24x7. Which means he can never take another day off every again.

I told our boss he better have shitload of money to give this guy.

Tommorrow is my goodbye gathering at the local Mexican bar. I'm not driving.
I'm planning on being there for about 3 hours. Seems I have about 20-30 people coming over the course of the evening. Gonna be fun.
New Another day, a lot of web surfing
Tick tick tick

The panic is starting to set in on my junior.

At least the tequila was pretty good.
New tequila is always good.
New Realization about the current boss
He's supposedly VERY technical.

He's the boss of the 16K line "programmer".

I'm just sitting here, reading SlashDot, killing time.

He comes over to say goodbye, asks me what I'm doing.

I tell him, killing time, answering questions, reading SlashDot.

SlashDot? What's that?

I think I've just discovered a new interview question. You don't have to read SlashDot, but if you don't know what it is, you can't claim current tech knowledge.
New From what you've told us
I don't think anybody at that company is "very" technical.

Reminds me of working at the Department of Energy years ago.

New Points
1. It's "Slashdot". Get down with the kids, old man!
2. Knowing what /. is doesn't necessarily reflect positively on one's level of tech knowhow. Sheesh, when was the last time you read it? A bigger pit of cluefreedom and fanboiism would be difficult to comprehend.
