New twas yesterday for me
burgers, kelbasa, standard dogs (I abstained).

Tried some dips, spicy chipotle pepper (awesome...will be at the bash), chili dip (ok...not a keeper), onion (less saltly that the standard soup mix...likley also a keeper) and the best...chili queso (chili and velveeta with some spices..this is actually a new years staple).

Couple of good friends, some good food, some guitars and bad singing. A good time had by all.

New Here we are... yeah.
Brats and Sweet Italian Sausage, cooked on low heat in a gas grill, unitl done. Then thrown in a Salted Vinegar and Beer Boil. Until everything else is cooked. Served on a bun with Vlassic 'kraut, heated up.

Hamburgers, 1/3rd pounders, cooked on low heat, till nicely "reddened" on the outside, nearly smoked rather than cooked. Also served on a Bun. (had to be OSX Brand Ketch-um-up, yah know, no cheap fakes here)

Bush's Baked Beans, strained, then with water, brown sugar, pressed garlic, 1/2LB of fresh bacon (chopped), a bit of liquid smoke and ground fresh habanero peppers all added, simmered for 3 hours (at a temp of 160F), without stirring.

Shredded potatos, first cooked on top of tinfoil on the grill until dark brown in places, the put in a crock-pot with cheddar and other cheese flavors, with 1/2LB of crispy bacon with scrapings from the pan. Makes one hell of a Cheesy Potato dish.

Macaroni and Cheese salad (basically a macaroni salad with soft cheeses and peppers and mayo and sour-cream and chopped eggs)

Cucs and Onion salad with Salt, splash of cider vinegar, with Sour Cream... yum

Lotsa loaded garlic bread.

Ice Cream floats topped with Red-Cream Soda.

There-in lies Nirvana.

New Mass quantities of beef
4 X 50lb hunks of dead cow on long sticks over hot coals for 12 hours. The trick is to get on the crew dismounting the meat from the sticks and carving it into more manageable hunks. You get to poach all the good crusty fatty bits for yourself.

Oh, I guess there were some side dishes and stuff. I didn't really look.

New Hey, about that...
I kept waiting for my invitation as was promised, but it never arrived.
I'm sure it got lost in the mail.
New Well this is embarrassing
I vaguely remember discussing it, but can't remember if it was a "real" invite or if I was just teasing the vegetarian. Either way, sorry I forgot to bring it up again. Consider it an open invitation for next year.

New *Sniff*
The damage is already done. I was so looking forward to banging head again. So few people get into it like you do.

Guess I can wait till next year.

I have a way you can make it up to me. I'm gonna send you an email.
New Oh lord
My salivary glands just SQUIRTED!

"Chicago to my mind was the only place to be. ... I above all liked the city because it was filled with people all a-bustle, and the clatter of hooves and carriages, and with delivery wagons and drays and peddlers and the boom and clank of freight trains. And when those black clouds came sailing in from the west, pouring thunderstorms upon us so that you couldn't hear the cries or curses of humankind, I liked that best of all. Chicago could stand up to the worst God had to offer. I understood why it was built--a place for trade, of course, with railroads and ships and so on, but mostly to give all of us a magnitude of defiance that is not provided by one house on the plains. And the plains is where those storms come from." -- E.L. Doctorow
