Have a big disaster drill today with an airline
In 30 minutes I get to play a woman whose husband and 2 children were killed in a plane crash today. The airline staff will contact me and give me the death notifications. I have to do this 3x.
Gearing up for it now. :-/

Here's hoping you can detach easily
Will your real kids be out of the house while you're doing it? I wouldn't want them to overhear and misunderstand.

Real kids are here
They are old pros at this. They know it's all pretend. I do this enough that they dont even bat an eye anymore.
It was a rough one today. One of the counselors cancelled on me at the last minute and I had to pick up her calls, too. I played a mother, a neighbor of a woman whose husband was killed *and* I also played the husband's mistress, who was listed as his emergency contact. It makes me schizo. I'm gonna run up to Starbucks now and get myself a little coffee treat.

Do people do that?
Who puts their mistress as their emergency contact? That's unsane. (No, that's not a typo.)

Yeah, people do that.
Wacky, huh?
Now try portraying the grieving mistress and the grieving wife at the same time. That's what you call excessively wacky. If I had any beer in the house I'd be drinking it now. Oy.

Which might make the role-play more accurate
I imagine the people you're portraying occasionally decide a drink would be a good idea.

And so does the person I play in real life
I bought a nice sauvignon blanc and am ready to curl up with a good book.
It got chilly out here all of the sudden. It's good curling up weather.

Pity there's no more drama on radio
You could have a nice sideline there.

Click..."Hello? Who's calling?"
"This is Air Integrity ma'am"
"yes, how can I help you?"
"We misted your husband today...sorry. You can see the pictures on CNN. Bye".
