New Weird happenings after FF/Win32 upgrade
A couple of oddities:

1) A strange display artifact appeared after upgrading to Firefox 1.5.0.5/Win32 today. The bottom edge of the firefox window used to be just wide enough to have the status field, the Secure indicator, and the hashed thumb for adjusting the window size, etc. Now that stuff is still present (and active), but below that there's about 5 bars worth of space before the bottom edge of the window. At the left edge of that space is a red "^" character about 3 line-widths down. (It doesn't do anything.) The wide bar is still there in full screen mode (F11), and is present if the Status bar is turned off.

I'm running my desktop at 2048x1536 x 32bits x 75 Hz, but it is the same at 1600x1200.

I don't know whether its related to my extensions, but I haven't seen this on other Win boxes that have a different mix of extensions. I don't run the desktop above 1600x1200 on the other machines.

2) If I try to edit my toolbars, the text menu becomes grayed out but no window appears. The only way to get the text menus active again is to restart FF.

Has anyone seen anything like this?

Thanks.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Re: Weird happenings after FF/Win32 upgrade
The first sounds like it might be related to FireBug. At least, I've seen something like that when debugging javascript using my Firebug extension. Do you have that installed?

That's the only thing I can think of. No thoughts on your second issue.

New Not that one.
PDF Download 0.7.4
Fasterfox 1.0.3
Flashblock 1.5.1
SpellBound Development 0.9.8.20060108
SpellBound 0.7.3
Mozilla SpellCheck Libraries 1.0.1.0
Toolbar Buttons 0.2.5.3
Table2Clipboard 0.0.2
Tab Mix Plus 0.3.0.5
Adblock Plus 0.7.1.1

I'll try turning off Toolbar Buttons because that doesn't seem to be working right either.

Thanks.

Cheers,
Scott.
New The spell checker?!?!
I unloaded all the extensions until I was left with the 3 for SpellBound. Nothing changed until I unloaded the 3 extensions involved with the spell checker. Now it's back to normal.

Weird.

I can edit my toolbars again too.

Weird.

[edit:] On reinstalling the extensions above: Toolbar Buttons 0.2.5.3 is incompatible with FiFo 1.5.0.5. The other extensions listed above work, but you have to get the right Spellbound packages. See the Site Search for a post of mine with pointers. The wide bottom bar and other artifacts are gone. Woot!

Cheers,
Scott.
(Who now gets to reinstall the extensions and see if the problems come back...)

New Upgraded yesterday with Firebug present, but didn't see that
Of course, it's Windows so the next boot-up may change all that.

(Never mind. Next time I'll read the whole thread first...)
