New Hotels in Chicago
We're visiting Northwestern University in June (in Evanston) and need a hotel, but I don't want to stay in Evanston -- we're going to be getting in later on Friday and I'd rather just stay outside of the city. Also, we might be visiting people in the Aurora/Naperville/Lisle area that weekend.

So the question is, where is a decent place to stay somewhat midway between Evanston and Naperville? O'Hare looks to be about the right location, but I don't know anything about the hotels there, nor anything about the neighborhoods either.
Regards,

New Enrolling Duncan at Northwestern?
Went to Northwestern twice in high school and once in college. The high school debate tournaments were always during thanksgiving and the college novice nationals were during spring break, so only the hard-core students stuck around.

We stayed in the dorms all three times, so I haven't a clue as far as where to stay. :-)

New Thanks, but I need between Lisle and Evanston
I've got family in Lisle (and Mike in Naperville for that matter); the best location from a tactical point of view, however, is further north.

New Try Schaumburg
If the O'Hare area looks about right from a distance-to-both-places perspective, try looking around Schaumburg. Right around the intersection of I-90 and Route 53, there's easy access to everything.

Also, that's where you and I went when you came out here in 2001. Dinner at...was it Shaw's? Or Big Bowl? Whatever. That and the pub (The Curragh)...That's the area I'm talking about. Right around Woodfield Mall. There's plenty of places around there, and all the usual suspects. If you need details of some places in the area, let me know and I can get details.

New Re: Hotels in Chicago
Don't know how much this really helps, but you never know. I did a quick Google Earth, checked off the "Lodging" box on the bottom around Evanston, IL, and a bunch of hotels & motels popped onscreen. You may find a nugget or two, or at least, some leads.
New Stayed at the Residence Inn in Warrenville (Naperville)
Very nice 1BR apartments with kitchens, which is invaluable when you're travelling with a 2yo. $109/night, clean, well-kept, quiet, and right next to 88 and a bunch of restaurants.

I think we're going to stay there again at the end of July when we're back in town for a wedding.
