I do that all the time
Boss of company that I do Linux consulting at: Him: My home email isn't working. Me: Sorry, you KNOW I use linux and have no idea what your problem is. I can't even envision your screen.

Alas, I know the screens all too well . . .
. . even though we use only OS/2 in-house.
I remember a client being here for something or other when I got a call from another client and walked that person up and down through the menus until their problem was solved.
When I was done the one sitting here exclaimed, "My God, you did that without even looking at a computer!"
Of course I can do the same with Linux, but only the command line since I rarely ever see a Linux GUI - the Linux desktop just isn't useful for my clients yet.

Yeah, like I've already forgotten about half what I knew . .
. . about MP/M and Concurrent CP/M.
Fortunately I've forgotten almost everything I knew about Apple DOS, but I didn't know all that much. I converted my Franklin to CP/M-80 with 8" floppy disks in just a few months.

Scary thought
What if human long-term memory is write-once?

jb4 "So don't pay attention to the approval ratings that say 68% of Americans disapprove of the job this man is doing. I ask you this, does that not also logically mean that 68% approve of the job he's not doing? Think about it. I haven't." — Stephen Colbert, at the White House Correspondent's Dinner 29Apr06
