I get rid of old computers by giving them to people who can use them. My first PC is currently in use by my dad, although it's had a few partial upgrades down through the years. My second PC was, until recently, my web and email server. My third PC is I believe still doing service at a former employer as a firewall. My fourth PC is under my desk, not plugged in. I still use the next three. :-)
