Disagree on #1
The book didn't go through all of the details with the reader, but I understand statistics well enough to know that the test described was going to be pretty good. The follow-up experiment clinched it.
They didn't catch all the cheaters. But they caught a bunch. And the ones they called cheaters, really were cheaters.
On #2, their explanation was incomplete. But still interesting for all that.
