On Tuesday! And he's been celebrating all week long, from what I hear.
Happy Birthday, John!

New Roo!___Yay!
And they even made a sign for ya!
And even if y'all are walkin around Upside-down -
The sign was right-side-Up!
guess I'll never get this gravity thing..

New That's a first
Someone spotted a birthday before Alex did!

Well done!

(And happy birthday!)

New Segfault! :)
I'm not sure where Laura picked that up, but it totally slipped by me.

Happy birthday, John!

I too hope it was a good one, John.

Cheers,

New happy surprising birthday
Have fun,

New How come Bio knew this, and not Alex ?!?
Oh, and wasn't there something more I was going to say...

Ah, yes: Congratulations!

New (Alex isn't on Jabber, AFAIK. It might have been there.)
New I'm not on jabber either.
No big mystery. He told me it was his birthday and I blabbed.

New Thanks guys!
Bionerd, I'll get you for this! *pretends to wave fist menacingly* :)

But no, I've had a tops week. Out for dinner almost every night with various friends and family, topped by dinner last night at [link|http://guillaumeatbennelong.com.au/index.html|this truly amazing restaurant] - I'll be annoying everyone by raving on and on about it so much.

So yeah - thanks guys! For the great week I've had, it was almost worth getting old :-)
Two out of three people wonder where the other one is.
New Roast barramundi, is that like koala or something?
actually the description of the red mullet sounds extremely interesting,
thanx,
bill

New Barra's a fish
[link|http://www.nativefish.asn.au/barramundi.html|More info on barramundi here]. I don't normally eat cooked fish - but this was worth making an exception. Very light in flavour.

We didn't get the mullet as part of the degustation menu, but every dish waas a wonder. The only one I didn't finish was the French Roquefort cheese dish. Blue cheese isn't my thing, even when it's an excellent one.

OT: Just noticed something almost interesting. The mac has the definition for degustation in its in-built dictionary, though it gets flagged as a word that is mis-spelled. Go figure.

New a whitefish! the aussie name sounds more exiting

And suddenly it occurred to me where these guys had learned their tactics. They'd seen Beau Geste, and were copying the Foreign Legionaires at Fort Zinderneuf.
