The hiring manager knew from my resume I was overqualified for this, and I told her up front the only reason I was taking it is because current employees get first shot at internal openings. She said that was fine, and she's already shopping my resume around within the company. Looks like my first extra project is going to be fixing the help system. Let's see how long it takes to move up the pay scale ... I may have to work as a PC Technician or something else, instead of a programmer, for a while. I haven't found anything yet.
