Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Yeah, about that..
it could always be worse...You could be sick or the kids could be puking and crapping all over the place.

I went to see my ENT for a post surgical follow-up today. Sinuses are doing fine but he cultured my throat- I have strep, too. I have an awful headache. No wonder everyone is working my last nerve today. Goddamn cold and flu season. BAH!

At least no one is puking.

New Sending you virtual Chicken soup.
Okay, Bitch. Get it over with. Just let out a great, big WAHHHHHHHHHH!

There, don't you feel better? I'm so sorry that crap is all hitting at once. I hope you are able to get some rest. I was even going to suggest that you keep the well child home too and everybody just pile up in bed and snuggle. I have been known to take the path of least resistance a time or two.

Big squeezy hugs to you and the kiddoes,
Amy
(Oh God! I did this in the Flame Forum...Scott is SO going to kill me. Motherfucker!)

New I've got that too
started with a sniffly cold last Wed. Thursday I decided to stay home. By Friday I had wicked sore throat and upper respiratory congestion - I know this drill - secondary infection. Drag ass into work to see doctor (work is in old hospital - still Dr office next door - very convenient, that). Arrive at noon, see Dr at 1:00 - she gives me penicillin, peak flow meter to measure asthma (never used one before) impact, and new albuterol inhaler. Answer a couple emails, push an issue or two and then I head home at 2:00.

Spent weekend in bed or on couch. By yesterday I managed a half day of work. Today is first full day back but I'm still sleeping about 12 hours at night and I'm pretty tired all the time. Tired enough to blow $7 on a taxi from the ferry dock to avoid a 15 minute walk. Expect it'll take another week to bounce back.

This thing is kicking my ass.

New Peak, shmeak
I've had asthma for 40 years (longer than those little meters or decent drugs have been around) - I can tell how much air I'm getting by feel.

New Healing thoughts your way
you sorry candy ass! I thought you were more macho than that! "I climb Kilimanjaro and kayak over Class 5 Rapids, but this little bug is kicking my ass."

Now, now. It'll be ok. Get your teddy bear and a nice swig of Southern Comfort.

Seriously, hope you are back to normal soon.

New Pile On!
Add me to the list of people hoping you recover quickly.

I hope it's not a delayed reaction to your [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=231899|shot]. I've been a little slow after mine (on the 8th), but I don't think they're related.

Cheers,
Scott.
New I am suspcious about that
Dr. claims shot should "rev up" immune system.

I, OTOH, have this theory that its keeping the system engaged and allowed it to become overwhelmed when faced with a real threat - not unlike what would happen in the US were some country to threaten - In this scenario, Iraq is our flu shot.
