possibly true, you have federal state county city tax
on gasoline products. Then you have a sales tax, in georgia that is 7% of the sale so if I buy 10 gallons at $3 per gallon the sales tax on that gas is $70 cents. This is on top of all the other taxes. The one month hiatus on the gas tax here cost the state government 75 million dollars.
