They're doing a eulogy for [link\|http://www.jtbf.org/five_firsts/Motley_C.htm\|Constance Baker Motley], the "first African-American woman appointed to the federal judiciary". And they said the same thing I just quoted in from the bio, "African-American". Her parents are from the West Indies. In the Carribean. Nowhere close to Africa. Some say the problem started because those sold out as slaves were not exactly from the upper crust of African culture (they were called "rednecks"), but this so called "black culture" is pretty much American grown.
