Oddly enough, on KUOW (local NPR affiliate) today they had a show about the "Seattle Freeze", AKA the difficulty people have making friends up here - it became quite obvious that the natives ARE quite friendly, which is how the "friendly Seattle" story got started. Now that everybody is from everywhere else, nobody is friendly any more...

A lot of displaced Seattle natives are moving to Portland.
Problem is, Seattleication just doesn't have the same ring... :P
