Welcome to IWETHEY!

New The Stat-folk will say, 'just a cluster'.
The esoteric will look for any? many? other odd 'coincidences'.
Certain Believers shall instantly assert a Meaning. (She Told me!)

The rest of us can.. just.. Count..

Wun and Wun and Wun is three; oops -
Wun and wun and wun and wun makes four.

We're still at the owl-entrails stage re such matters.

New What's your point, Ash?
Or are you just wanting to drive at some intuition-based-gestalt-thing as part of kind of return-to-Mother-Earth anti-empiricist gig?

New Amidst 'a cluster'
It is usually foolish to extrapolate/interpolate - as we are wont to do.

But the group of events may be signalling another process {not yet noticed} that is manifesting -- may thus be pointing towards (some action as might.. forestall more events).

The first is intellect, evaluating - the second is emotion (but sometimes also instinct) seeing relationships that don't move trippingly into a formula, or into our present model.

Rock/hard-place; the place we often are, when a lot of bad shit is happening (to use the technical term). Go with one angle of view and not both == spin wheels and hand-wave.

HTH

New This just in -
Just now on NPR, a boffin from a UK magazine, David Leermond (phon.) ofFlight International speaks to the question: coincidence or __?

Says, "I don't think these are coincidences ..."

These have occurred in countries where the 'safety culture' is not ~ as in N. America, or amongst the (premier?) airlines. He elaborates on what he means by 'safety culture', of course.

He closes with an exception to these implications
{talk about yer Fair n'Balanced..}

Ethiopian Airlines! breaks all the 'rules' -- unstable authoritarian govt. much local poverty etc. But a nonpareil safety record!

His guesstimate: It's the top employer of the country; pride of employees in doing their very best? if lucky to get one of these jobs; that plus a management as feels the same way.
