Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Just the excuse I need. THANKS.
I have been plodding along with Python, just not quite as well as I had really wanted myself to do.

I am/have been looking for a framework to rebuild my shell script driven publishing system. I like python, I want something with a set of "rules/templates/methods/functions" already there, so I don't have to invent/write them.

I now, (along with many other things) have a good way to "force myself" or not have an excuse to go forward with python.. FINALLY.

I thank you much, Jim. Very much.

New If you get bored with Django, try CherryPy
I've put [link|http://www.cherrypy.org/search?q=fumanchu&wiki=on&changeset=on&ticket=on|a lot of work] into it lately. ;)

CherryPy is purely an HTTP application server, and doesn't try to "be Rails"; CP doesn't force a templating or database solution on you.

"Despite the seemingly endless necessity for doing
so, it's actually not possible to reverse-engineer intended invariants
from staring at thousands of lines of code (not in C, and not in
Python code either)."

Tim Peters on python-dev
New Personally, I'd rather try Nina Simone
when she was in her twenties, but that's just me.

New LRPD sez " Powered by the lights of perverted science!"
Besides, Warrant sucked, hated that song.

Well, actually they're still playing, a friend's band opened for them a couple of months ago here in Denver.

New Dropping a trail of crumbs towards Ruby
If you're replacing a bunch of scripts, take a look at [link|http://www.martinfowler.com/articles/rake.html|Martin Fowler's into to Rake]. AFAIK, there isn't yet a Python equivalent.
New I believe that scons predates rake

Ben
I have come to believe that idealism without discipline is a quick road to disaster, while discipline without idealism is pointless. -- Aaron Ward (my brother)

The revolution will not be televised. You can apt-get it from the usual mirrors, however.
