New how to slow down Ents on pavement
first off
Peter is a 6 ft summat nice guy with typical Geordie reserve (let the auld folks gas on and pretend they are interested) accompanied by a young lady who has the following
gawd she is tall
gawd she is beautiful
gawd she has a very good sense of humor
gawd she is both elegant and a lady
gawd she has a (inset fine hmhmhmhmh here)
fierst things first Peter and his companion are tall. If you are a back damaged hopalong slowing them down requires conversation as well as welcoming as well as giving one self a chance to admire (no dont go there) and they were gadgee pleasing enough to put up with it. With I had enough to get them both to Alaska and tour them about the place. Im glad they endured enough to consider a return visit. I ever get ploughed enough to buy a ticket to the homeland I will disgrace them both by inviting them to my relative's houses where they will be amused then robbed at will.

Seriously
decent folk that do match and I hope they do well together, I hoped J with an A gets over the grape story she was disgusted by danreck. Couldnt help it he was vunerable :-)
thanx,
bill

New No pretending required, box :-)
Next time you're over here, we'll go gas on in a real pub with real beer. Ask Mike about my local drinkeries and the high quality thereof.

New Beer was ok I thought...
but the food and service sucked. My bad for picking a place so close to Center City on a Friday night.

Post edit:

Yes, they are tall :-) And yes, Peter has chosen wisely.

New The place was very poorly designed, I wot.
Here's a gap, in which you could stand! Only not, because you're in the way of the waitrons! Let's not bother with door staff, but instead let the place fill up to the point where the patrons cannot navigate to the lavs!

The smart thing to do in that building would be to lose as many of those "quaint" inner walls as possible to allow more seating (or even standing) and less "excuse me, thanks, sorry, excuse me, thanks, sorry, sorry, oops, excuse me" as you go from bar to bog to bar.

Nevertheless, a most memorable night.

I invited her up to my place for a little midnight bait. I said, "Come on, baby. It'll only take a few minnows." She threw me that same old line: "Not tonight, I've got a haddock."
