No, ronald McDonald has our undying gratitude for summarily ruining the US Economy, which was , up to that point, the strongest in the world. The Soviet Union colapsed under the weight of its own largesse. One could argue that Ronnie helped it along a bit, but most all pundits agree that the SU would have fallen within 5 years of the time that it did had we done absolutely nothing. And then you could have howered your "undying gratitude" on...Bill Clinton!?! Hey, stick around another 5 to 7 years, and you'll see it happen again...up close and personal this time...for the very same reason. So, at the moment, Putin's Russia is still better than Soviet Union. And when it will finally become worse (as it will), it will not be Reagan's fault. Also, keep in mind places like Chech Republic, Poland, Baltic states and so on.
