Makes sense to me
I don't think anybody sane is pro-abortion. However, if you want to reduce the number of abortions, just making it illegal doesn't work. In the same way that prohibition to eliminate drinking didn't work.
Furthermore, the current set of economic policies seems to make abortion more common rather than less. IOW, AFAICS, the Republican Party is pro-abortion. Nearly everything they've done has increased the desirability of abortions. So why would a pro-lifer align with these clowns?
Making it illegal will not cut down the number significantly, it will only make them more dangerous.
I'd like to see more action and less BS rhetoric in general from our government. Cause and effect people, cause and effect.

"The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them." --Albert Einstein
"This is still a dangerous world. It's a world of madmen and uncertainty and potential mental losses." --George W. Bush

Not "seem" it's a fact.
I don't have the stats page at hand (I'll look it up later and edit this post) but both teen pregnancies *and* abortions are up under Dubya.

You're right
Making it illegal will not cut down the number significantly, it will only make them more dangerous. Abortions shouldn't be a political issue in the first place. No politician sitting in Washington is going to tell me what I can and cant do with my body. That is between me, my conscious, my God, and my doctor. It is absolutely not between me and George Bush! If a woman wants an abortion she's going to get one- legal or not.
It's like, "How much more black could this be?", and the answer is none. None more black.

You forget that anti-abortion crowd
thinks that it's not your body. From their POW, it's no more "between me, my conscious, my God, and my doctor" than a murder.
I do not agree with them, but it helps to understand the other side. They don't want control of "your body", they think you're murdering someone else. The only _argument_ they could understand (if any) is a proof that there is no "someone else" there.

That's true, but another thing they say is ...
that by allowing public funding to pay for it, you are forcing them to be complicit in the "murder of innocents". After all, they argue, you're forcing me to pay for it and I don't want to pay for it.

Is that anything like income taxes and invading Iraq? :)
